We are about to go upper class to Orlando and was wondering about downtown disney check in. If we check in at downtown disney but then want to check another bag at the airport would we be able to do that? I know we are allowed 3 bags each and would not have used our allowance up.
My other question is when you get the meal onboard do you get offered cheese or dessert or both? I know I'm greedy but like to try everything :D . I've flown upper once before but was ill during the flight so missed the meal completely.

I can't answer the Downtown disney check-in query but my belief would be that it wouldn't be a problem.

With regard to the meal, yes it is OK to have both the dessert and the cheese and biccies. On one of my flights I was undecided as to which to take and the cabin crew suggested I take both. I did!

To add what Neil has said, the UC Check In at the Airport is opposite the main check in area and you will not have a problem chacking in an extra bag.

At the Disey check in, there is a seperate line for UC, PE and Au Pasengers

As Neil & Buns have said.. We have historically done this, saving one bag back for swimming kit and change of clothes etc. However of late have found it just as convenient to hold bags at accommodation for free and use their facilities to freshen up/ change etc.... and just go to check-in as normal as transfer from car hire to desk is very painless..(especially if not travelling Y, as there's generally no queue to struggle with). The time it can take to get to DTD, check-in etc , often found it easier to have a leisurely morning and afternoon and save all that "going home stuff" to the late afternoon..Seemed to make us feel we were getting that extra day...

I agree with what you are saying and have been trying to convince my husband of this. Shame he doesn't read this forum

If you do OLCI at T-24 or sooner you will have secured your selected seats. You have selected seats, haven't you?

I really can't see the advantage of doing DTD check-in if you are going to be checking in one bag at the airport and others at the DTD when you are in UC. There are only 14 seats in UC so it is as easy to check 3 bags as one. It's not as if the flight is going to be swamped with Gold members who have the same entitlement about check-in.

I'm not a Disney regular using VS (other times it has been via internal US airlines to other airports and then connecting with VS) but the one day that we did use them, my son golfed that morning and I did whatever it was I wanted to do (can't remember what it was) and we then checked in at the airport with the minimum of fuss. Why waste the last few hours of your time there in going to DTD?

It sounds very greedy but you can request what you want when you want subject to availability.

I would advise in future that you would post a query like this as a separate topic and not use text speak according to forum rules

Claire,

Yep, I've known people have both, or in fact just bits of the menu. I know I've had just starter and dessert only, especially if I've already pigged out in the clubhouse. ii)

I have already done seat selection for both flights and would love to have tried the clubhouse but we are flying from Manchester so will use the escape lounge.
All I need to do now is persuade my husband not to use DTD check in.
Getting really excited now. This website has been so very helpful.
I will have to be organised and do a trip report when I return.

The bonus of using DTDC is that you only need to be at the airport around half an hour before boarding rather than 3 hours before for checkin.

We always use it as we usually stay in or around Disney and at opening time it only takes a few minutes to get your boarding passes then the rest of the day's yours.

Useful if departing at 7 or 8 o'clock at night.

Enjoy your trip

David :)

That's fine if you aren't planning on checking another bag at the airport. As the OP plans was to do so, then they would still need to be at the airport before the minimum cut off point to ensure their bag makes it on to the flight.

Sorry fingers working faster than the brain this morning - should have finished by saying "but that is all irrelevant if you need to check another bag in at airport" :#

Quick question related to DTD, we're a family of 4 flying PE and i have Au status.

Will i be required to pay for the rest of the family if using DTD?
