Hotel in Miami

Hi,
We are taking our first UC trip in July, to Miami. Cant wait!
We plan to spent the day after we arrive in Miami before moving on. So we need a hotel for one night.
We are looking for something nice, but reasonably priced. We will have a car so needs parking.
Any recommendations?
I was also thinking of using Priceline auction site which works on areas. Any areas to recommend or void?
