Hi guys and girls

My partner and I are looking at booking flights from LHR-DEL in October in Premium Economy with a friend of ours.

Having been to Goa down south before, I suspect this differs vastly from Delhi up north, and so I am wondering whether any of you helpful souls could help.

Firstly, could anyone recommend the best seats in PE? I've been a memeber of V-Flyer for a while, but have never flown Virgin (a Virgin virgin if you like... bad joke...) so any advice would be great.

Also, from you guys who have visited Delhi, what should I do? Which sights should I see. We looking at going for 11 days so we dont need to jam pack every day, but certainly a few suggestions of where to go, maybe eat and see would be grately appreciated. I am assuming the standard a/cft on the LHR-DEL route is a 346 (my favourite a/cft) sometimes being a 343? Is this likely to stick as far in advance of October or is it Virgin's perogative to chop and change?

Any help you guys can offer would be great.
Cheers! ii) :D

Row 18 has the most leg room with with A/C and H?K the most and very private. DFG are nice but not as much leg room. Row 18 is only allocated at check-in

Row 23 is worst - it is right next t the toilets and the recline (despite what the website tells you)is not as good. You are also likely to have sreaming kids right behind you at the Y bulkhead.

All the others are great but re,e,ber that the window seats and the middle seats have a box of electronics under them so the leg room is quite limited - therefore all the isle seats are the best.

I have merged your new thread with the existing one you created a few days ago. It is considered bad netiquette and against our forum rules to post the same thread multiple times or bump an existing thread.

Hopefully someone will be able to answer your questions, but unfortunately our members cannot always answer everything.

Thanks,
Neil

What are your plans for your staying - are you locating yourself in one hotel for example and where (that can make a world of difference given New Delhi traffic)?

However for some pointers:

- Check out Delhi Urban Adventures for day guided tours
- For architecture and history: Humayun's toom or Qutab Minar, and the Red Fort
- For British colonial architecture India Gate and all the Lutyen's buildings, try to get a tour of the presidential palace if open
- Connaught Place is hectic, full of shops and restaurants, but quite a place
- For authentic Delhi shopping Chandni Chowk, but be prepared for crowds and hassle! - GK Market M Block is a bit less stressful

If you are going out of Delhi then that's a whole different story, but from Delhi it is worth visiting Agra and the Taj Mahal. Simply do not believe anyone that the new road makes it a two hours drive, it'll be 4-5 hrs each way. And if you can, visiting the TM is best in moonlight, second best at sunrise.

Fantastic!

Well that is certainly an olympic gold for forum replies.
Great, thanks! I think we intend to base ourselves at one hotel and branch out from there. Hopefully it'll be near the centre so it's not a great distance from either direction.

Is staying right in the city advisable, or would you say stay more towards the outskirts?

I certainly will check those things out that you've mentioned, and am SUPER excited about visiting the Taj Mahal.

Thanks again for all the advice :D
