Birds of a feather on Virgin Atlantic

I just came across an old Birds of a feather episode from 1993 where they went to LA after thinking George Hamilton was there Father! Sharon & Tracey were sitting in Economy And Dorian was in Upper Class (sitting next to Richard Branson) It was so amazing to see how the UC cabin was back in those days....No flat beds...No visable sign of the bar? the config was 2-3-2!!! Amazing to think that UC was worse than the PE cabin today. be interesting if anyone has any memories of flying in the old Upper Class...

I have memories of sitting in the old UC in the early noughties. The seats slid down and were angled at the floor. I always seemed to slide off them.

The bar was more integrated into the cabin rather than behind a wall as it is now. Probably better for those who are in seats near the bar but not as inviting in my opinion

I flew old style UC back in 1997 (or was it 1998?). Memory may lie, but it seemed very, very spacious

On my very first flight on VS to SFO I was upgraded from PE to Upper ... which was fab, I and a colleague had seats upstairs and they were the pre-J2000 angled lie flat seats, the big fabric covered armchair like seats. I recall lots of room, lots of champagne, and even the sofa in front of the bar then!

Interesting I can't sleep in anything other than a flat bed but they used to give you the most wonderful Champagne Cocktail that would knock me out for the entire flight!

First trip to Vegas was in old seat, to be totally honest ( blushes ) I preferred the seat to a suit and the food was much nicer too.
