Had a mailshot through the other night saying that you can now get 0% commission travel money delivered to you in the Clubhouse. Excellent I thought. I'm travelling on Monday and I never normally get around to sorting currency out in advance so just tend to get openly scammed by Travelex at the airport.

That said, I followed the link in the email and the only option appears to be home delivery. Called Virgin Travel Money this morning and they didn't know anything about it! I mean, seriously, who does their marketing?!

Anyway, they are going to call me back later to let me know what the story is. I'll post here when I get an update in case anyone else is planning on using the service!

I saw this too, I looked on the Virgin Atlantic website(Link), and this could of been so much better.

When you get to the Clubhouse you tell the Dragon that you wish to get some currency exchanged, they will give you a business card and then you have to phone up the number to order, they will bring the money to your table and take payment from you there.

Why couldn't the Clubhouse staff make the order for you? It just seems like a missed opportunity. ?|

Yeah, I just got a call back to say as much! You need to do it on the day at the Clubhouse. I thought that'd just be a case of going up to the concierge desk and placing the order with them.

From what you describe, this seems like a very disjointed process! I wonder why they can't place the phone call!

Would also be good if you could pre-order online.

I suppose there might be some financial regulation that stops the CH staff from ordering it for you, but they don't take payment till they see you.

Sounds like it could be a good service, but let down in the way VS have implemented it IMO. n(

Reading the FAQ's it seems to be a simple case of not being able to have pre-orders delivered to anywhere other than the billing address of the card. Could be worded better though.

Travelex has a better rate and you can pre-order and collect from the Heathrow office just by the private security channel door.
