Hello All,

Following our brilliant outbound LHR to SFO and not so brilliant inbound from LAS to MAN last November UC l emailed customer services.

Have received a lovely letter from FC apologising that we found service below par and they have awarded us 8000 miles each.
Now l don't think that's a bad result.

Just thought I'd share.

It's always nice to get a gesture like that, and their intention will be to keep your custom and turn potentially negative hearsay into positive...

I do hope, though, that more "behind the scenes" investigation/tracking/action is taken with such complaints, it might reduce some of the inconsistency of service...

Great result and well done VS for turning this situation around with that gesture y) y)

I agree with Concorde's sentiments regarding follow up!

I know VS take a long time to respond to complaints, but when I've made a complaint in the past I've always found it to be very well worded, addressing all points.

Good Result - and it has worked as you are telling your friends that VS is worth being given another chance

I have just read your trip report of your inbound flight to MAN and it bought back memories of my outbound flight from MAN on Saturday.

I will definately be writing to VS Customer Service about my outbound flight. I'm not after the miles (but will accept them if offered!) - more they need to do something about the inconsistent cabin crew / service delivery on Manchester routes, especially in Upper Class.

I can't help but think that the crew working Upper to/from MAN may be getting complacent. Virgin are the only airline (I think) offering a J class cabin direct from MAN to MCO/BGI/LAS. To put crew in this cabin who cannot get drink orders right / deliver requested drinks (as we had on the outbound flight) is a joke. How long would those crew last in Upper on an ex-LHR flight to say JFK/LAX etc, where there is competition? Not long.

I think you are right about the MAN crew and it's such a shame. The MAN/MCO route used to provide really good service and that was in the days of PE and Club Orlando.

Do hope your return flight is better for you :)
