"Your account summary"

Two things I've wondered about the "Your account summary":

• What is the significance of the "Tier Points earned" vs "VS Tier Points earned"? In what situations are only tier points earned on VS-operated flights counted and tier points earned on partner flights ignored?
  
• Why does it show a line "Check in completed online." for every online check-in I do, with 0 mileage and 0 tier points? This just seems like clutter (especially for the "last 5 transactions" view).

Good questions. I have no idea about the first one. I'm not aware of a specific value attached to a VS TP vs a VX TP for example.

I seem to recall the OLCI entry is a hangover from several years ago when they were trying to encourage people to check-in online. Although I can't see any on mine, IIRC For a while they gave some bonus FC miles for completing OLCI so there had to be an entry in the FC account. Of course VS IT department has now lost the person who wrote that piece of code so it can never be removed.

I just looked all the way back on my FC account(*) and there is a 500 FC mile bonus line way back in 2005:

19 Sep 2005 Online booking mileage bonus. 500 . 0

which shows there were all sorts of bonuses given to get us to use the internet instead of calling.

(*) You ca do this by editing the URL when you have logged into your FC account and changing the 2 in the bit that has "...Selection=2&update..." to an 8. If you get it to work you can see your whole history. This was a tip from Pete or Neil from ages ago.
