Only for credit card bookings though:
British Airways will also be following other UK airlines at this time by introducing a £2 per ticket fee when using your credit card to purchase your flight on ba.com. There will continue to be no charge for debit card payments.

To be honest, I am surprised it has taken them this long to do it.. get a few extra quid, but keep the headline fares down.. basic marketing and advertising sense...

Airlines are trying to squeeze as much as they can now. Unfortunately, it doesn't give a very good impression of them, but i guess the public have learnt by now that what you see is definitely not what you pay.

I found one of my old LHR-SFO tickets from 2000 the other day.

It had £68.30 taxes, fees and charges on it [:0]

Somehow, I'm pretty sure the 3% annual inflation wouldn't bring me to the £146.40 figure we have now for the same flight [V]


(and VS aren't even charging a BA style CC fee yet!)


PS - Any VS people reading this, do NOT, I repeat, do NOT assume this is positive customer feedback to introduce one!
