Hi Guys

New to the site, so forgive me if the question has been asked before! I've booked my reward flight to the US in September and on the return leg we're taking the day flight from EWR back to LHR.

In Upper, what meals do VA tend to serve on this flight? Any seat recommendations?

Thanks all!

When I took that flight there was a snack/breakfast service, the latter of which was a bacon roll upon departure and lunch was served a couple of hours before arrival in LHR.

If you are on an A346, my recommendations are for 3 or 4K and on a 747 any seat in the pointy end. If it's a 346 some may recommend a seat in the area 8-17A but bear in mind that at EWR boarding is through door L1 so the world and his wife will be traipsing past you while they board.

Thanks for that great tip honey lamb! I didn't know that. Have some A seats booked for VS18 in April... will see if I can swap to the other side. :)

What's the point of travelling in upper if you can't flaunt it? :P

While I realise your answer is tongue in cheek (or should that be tongue stuck out :o) ) it is a disadvantage being in the A seats as everyone swings past bashing you with their carry-ons (I suppose they have to take it out on you somehow). It's difficult for the crew to get to you and, horror of horrors!, give you your champagne! :0

(And before anyone flames me, my response was also tongue in cheek)

About the A seats, The general rule for the VS18 while I worked in EWR was that halfway through boarding they would switch aisles to the K side for Y and W passengers, so the crew can do their duties for the Upper Class passengers on the A/D seats, and also spread the "load" with the Premium and Economy passengers going to their seats.
So in theory A seats are only disadvantaged at the start of boarding.
