I'll take that 'free' with a hefty pinch of salt ;) I wouldn't bet against the 'free' passenger having to stump up the various taxes, charges and everything else - if that is the case, rather misleading from VS yet again.

Very true, which what makes using miles on Y seats very unattractive...
Wonder what the percentage cost of the base fare is against all the other stuff on a standard Y LHR-NYC :w

Oh BOTH would have to pay the £ 350+ in VS fuel surcharges, airport fees and taxes.

Do VS not proof read?

So basically a "free reward" seat to for example NYC will actually cost you £350 each saving you about 100 quid for each seat (on a non-sale lowest fare). Bet that doesn't get spun & plastered all over F'book or the VS site...

Assume BA's offer on half price rewards will be published tomorrow... :w

I saw the mail come in and opened it excitedly thinking I could get Gs for the whole family at long last - there was no mention of "economy" in the title.

Hah... why did I delude myself?!

Sorry to be positive; not generally the norm at the moment...
But this looks like pretty good value if used in conjunction with a pair of AMEX upgrade vouchers - value in terms of miles, perhaps not cash!

You can't, the terms and conditions exclude any CC upgrade vouchers.

Am I understanding this correctly? Taxes and surcharges are payable on both tickets? This seems like a very mis-leading offer!

It's only £20 more per ticket for a normal ticket.
