BA upgrades

I know this is a virgin orientated forum but does any body know BAs policy on upgrades from Club World to First at the airport. We are flying to Barbados and would love to fly first(we wanted to go VS but they do not have sky cots in UCS on this route) Any ideas on cost. Please

You don't want to know,BA policy is to charge what ever the difference is between the Club fare and the F fare,though saying that,I just checked on BA.com,for flight leaving tueday and the difference was only 1300 pounds..

Hi I dont have any miles. I do have £2500. Who should I speak to Check in or gate staff? Any help would be great.

I am not exactly sure of the process for BA for Check-in staff can't take cash to upgrade you (unless their accepting a bribe!) and usually neither can check-in. You generally have to speak to ticketing at the terminal.

Tride the bribe move after we had been op-uped on the last flight--wouldn't take it[:0]..yes talk to ticketing

Have only flown BA twice,

1st time was upgraded at counter to world traveller plus on way to JFK.

2nd time on way back checked-in and asked if any upgrades but no go, so went over to ticketing and paid for upgrade to WTPlus $250 each and got free upgrade to J, and didn't have any hassle re: checking in again.

All in all not bad, and definetly more generous than I havefound VA to date.

You can ask the CSD on board if you can pay cash for an upgrade ( £700 from Club to F). They may upgrade but it would be dependent on having enough catering on board.

The CSD ( Cabin Service Director) will be the perosn with a large hairbrush !!!

(Sorry -the hairbrush bit is an ongoing comment on the BA FT board)

PS- I have not tried this approach.
