Hi - flying to MIA on 12th March - will the new UC Menu be in full swing by then and when will it be published?

This is also my first time flying UC ex-UK - have done the return trip a few times in UC - and so first time in the LHR Clubhouse. We will unfortunately only have about an hour to spend in the CH - what are the absolutely must-do things to experience in that hour? :D

Thanks.

It should start at th beginning of March so that by March 12th it should be in full swing. It will be posted here as soon as someone has flown since its introduction and has details of it.

With regard to the Clubhouse, the advice is to go to the Spa area at the far right hand corner and book a treatment. However if you have only one hour in the CH that may not be possible. The staff have a cut-off point for each flight to allow time for the treatment prior to boarding call. The person at the door will give you a brief résumé of where everything is. My advice is, sit back, drink champagne, have brekkie and enjoy. :D

HL are you assuming that it gets back on track following the schedule upset in October / November? I'm flying on the 4th, so if perchance it has changed by then, I'll post ...

It's so long ago but I did ask whether the menu would change in December given it hadn't been introduced until the beginning of November and I had been told, no, that it would not revert until the next cycle in March.

Yes like the new trolley service!

Would it be fair to say that's going to be the standard VS line on the new service?

Might be worthwhile adding the qualifier 'In my opinion....' before that sentence...

Princess Fiona wrote:Does the spring menu cover May and June or will that be summer? So glad I found this forum lol y)

the changes to the UC menu are generally the beginning of March, June, September and December. Occasionally if there is a change in service as right now, or a few years ago when there was a change in the caterers the period may be extended. This can be a real pain for the really frequent flyers - the ones who fly several times during each meal rotation

Tell me about it - there is only so many times I can get excited about a soggy beef Wellington every month :)

After flying nine times since December 18th, I consider myself a conessuier of VS J class food choices :)

Please don't, I shudder at the prospect.

How long do you think it would take for VS to reply if I claimed psychological damage from repeated exposure to cherry tomatoes and gravy?

Had the brand new menus (yes, they're new and launched) today, as well as the new service.

New wine carrier - leather (won't last, IMHO)
New salt+pepper pots, cocktail shaker style - like them.
Cheese course is a joke on a trolley, having to decant cheese to provide exactly the same plateful as you used to get in seconds before.
No trays handed out on the table - instead, a cool brown material runner is laid down.
No sign of the cake stand at all during afternoon tea (or cakes, for that matter).
"Freedom" has been removed. Now only light-bites available to order when you want (and they're LIGHT)

As per usual... Ran out of sleep suits, and used the bar area as a crew prep station throughout.

Looks good in the marketing materials, I'll give them that...

I rarely want to eat my meal when I first get on the plane so under the Freedom Menu I just asked to be served on "local" time. Reading the "new exciting prepare to be seriously impressed" upgraded meal service report it sounds as if in future I will just be offered a snack? v(
