Is it just me... starting to get fed up with this..nearly everytime try and progress past a calendar view for a reward flight booking get the following:

WE'RE SORRY...

We have been unable to process your request.

You can either return to the homepage and we'll keep your search details so you don't have to fill them in again, or contact Reservations.
If you would prefer to speak to one of our agents please use the "Call me" function below.

Could this relate to new UC role out, or as suspected just ongoing shitness of the VS site.. :?

Maybe should suggest rewording:
WE'RE SORRY...

We have been unable to process your request because our website is currently, no thats a lie, always bobbins. In fact its that bad we can't even finish updating it all, but have half done it.....isn't it great...

You can either return to the homepage and we'll keep your search details so you don't have to fill them in again, not that it'll help as you'll see this screen again..
..or you could contact Reservations, which may entail staying on hold for a lifetime and listening to a variety of unrelated information.

If you would prefer to speak to one of our agents (surely thats what "contacting reservations" is?), who'll have no idea about reward booking details or options available to you please use the "Call me" function below and during the next week or so, we'll potentially return your call.

Vent over... :#

Your rewriting of the blurb is much much better. It's sad that it's also more accurate!

The calendar thing you mention has been a bug for a while. If you search for reward flights and none are available on your dates, the calendar appears, but if you select a date from the calendar, then the system crashes. It's really pathetic and it's gone on for AGES!

Yes this is a known problem and VS don't seem that interesting in fixing it despite being told about it several times.

Howard even commented on it on the FB page today (after yet another complaint) but all he could say was that "I'm sure they are working on it" rather than they ARE working on it.

The only work around it to make of note of the available dates in the calendar and then start the search again using those dates. Not ideal but better than phoning.

The website doesn't keep all details though. The destination always defaults back to New York. Not good when you want to keep checking dates/fares for any other destination etc. v(

Interestingly, we had exactly the experience described by NH last night n( n(

Flights were available, but we couldn't book on line - after ages on hold (free thanks to 'saynoto0870 8D ) we got through to an agent in Wales.

After being told that it was 100K in Upper one way to SYD, but an extra 40K is we stayed over in HKG :0 , we were able to put her right and book 1 x LHR-HKG and 2 x HKG-SYD upper rewards for our first choice of dates next January 2013. ^) ^)

A bit of a risk, hoping that a second UC seat LHR-HKG would open up in the next few months, but the risk was rewarded as - when I got in tonight, I tried an online booking. First surprise was that a second seat had appeared in <24 hours. Second major shock was that I was able to book it and complete the whole transaction online.

Result. 8D 8D

Now - all we have to do is wait for the return dates to come online. :D

Nick - just make sure you've got the e-ticket, and that there hasn't been a credit card issue that will obviously be your fault even though you don't know about it until you find out you haven't got the booking afterall.
