I'm hoping someone can help. I'm hiring a car from Alamo and picking up at Orlando airport - (usually I get picked up by friends and collect my car from Melbourne which is hassel-free, avoiding the queues at Orlando).

Do Alamo do a fast-track collection or something similar?

Can't bear to think of the queues I've endured in the past v(

I've booked directly with Alamo for the last 2 years, ( Surprisingly cheaper than the usual UK-Brokers, like uscarhire, usrentacar, carhire3000, etc, etc. ), and i have used their "Save Time" feature which is accessed via "manage my booking". You basically enter your Driving License, Credit Card details etc, and then use one of the Blue Kiosks situated behind the regular Desks- you know?, the one's with a queue bigger than immigration? The whole process at the Kiosk took about 90 seconds. I just followed the 0n-screen prompts, and a mini rental agreement was printed out a few seconds later. I then proceeded accross the road to the alamo Garage, chose my vehicle, then presented driving license, credit card, and rental agreement, ( Which they kindly stapled into an alamo sleeve for me), the usual windscreen scan, and have a nice day!

Hi, We have booked our car hire thru Virgin using Alamo.
They have an online check in facility which in theory means you just go straight to the car park area where all the cars a re located. Sounds to good to be true!
I have input all driver details etc on the Alamo website. I dont travel until April 20th but I will post on here, in my TR how this went.

Some family used the Alamo OLCI feature when they booked via Virgin and they said it was really quick and easy, so fingers crossed it will work well for you also.

Thanks,
Neil

I have now used the OLCI for Alamo twice now, once at IAH and once at MCO, and it works brilliantly and saves a stack of time. You just get through immigration & customs and then drift straight off to the rental garage and take your pick of a car in your class.
Simples :D

Thats great to here, thanks for the info Petmadness. I had used Dollar for the last 10 years but what with the FC miles bonus thru alamo I decided to get a quote. They even came in cheaper than Dollar and were offering a Chevrolet Tahoe as their full size SUV. Happy Days.

Having just read the 'small print' on the Alamo website, it says car hire in excess of 30 days cannot do OLCI - that cancels me out!! I suppose I will have to just prepare myself for a long queue!! :(!

I need a bit of help here, I have booked Alamo, flying this Friday. I have brought my booking up on screen, but it doesn't give me the option to check in on-line. I have tried the US version of the site and it has the option there, but won't let me do it. It says I need to do it through the site I booked on i.e Alamo uk. Any ideas?, or is it staring me right in the face??

I was told last year that people booking through Virgin Holidays could check in online but those booking through Virgin Atlantic could not! We ended up in the queue. I believe that there is some theory about whether it is best to go to side A or side B, but I cannot remember. Does anyone else know as we are using Alamo again in May?

Someone is giving you duff info, Janeclar. I checked in online with Alamo this year with no problem and have done so again for this year. Both times my booking was made thro' the VS site. It really does save quite a bit of time at MCO.

The information was from Alamo in the USA - I rang them when none of the references on our booking would work. This was November 2011 but the car was bboked back in January 2011, so maybe things have changed.
