how long before flight is the call to the gate?

can't recall how long before the flight you are called from the lounge. i am on the vs 019 leaving 10.35.
just want to maximise my time in the lounge.

also have noticed a few invites to the lounge on the forum.
can anyone travelling uc invite someone in? if so how many per person?

Normally depends on the gate, since the further away from the lounge, the longer the walk.

Each Upper Class or Gold cardholder can take in one guest each. So if you're a couple both travelling in Upper, you can take in two guests. They need to be travelling on VS on the same day, but not necessarily the same flight.

want to put an invite on as it is the least i can do to try and give something back to this fantastic website.

Not a specific forum, but if you post an itinerary in the itinerary forum, there's now a checkbox to indicate you have spare guest invites to the lounge.

Calls for flights vary, as Pete said -- and gate congestion can play its part too. As a rough guide I'd reckon on being called first at about 40-50 minutes before departure.

There will be a 'first call' that the flight is boarding and some people will leave the CH then. What most of us here seem to do though is used 'first call' as the prompt to collect belongings together and to order one more drink, nip to the loo etc then be ready to depart when second call is announced.

Is the LHR clubhouse before or after security? Just wondering if that has to be taken into account in heading for the gate.
