I was thinking more that I would be surprised if an FC Gold Agent hadn't taken the corporate pill.

Oh I see; fair point.

It's actually a shame when you can almost hear the vice of corporate nonsense quietly strangling someone's initial urge to say 'yes, it's actually a load of rubbish' when talking to people on the phone.

Agreed. I go through the same thing myself when I hear our salesmen making promises that I know we can't deliver on...

I see it as a bit of relatively harmless SRB babble, perhaps if he'd kept the comment to 'you can fly around the world with a Virgin airline', it might have been better. The point that is relevant is the completion of the process of booking and using miles / earning miles on all VS airlines. I was much more concerned about his silly comment that Virgin was done in the UK.

Speaking of silly comments, I await with baited breath the one that is no doubt being cooked up right about now by SRB about the BMI developments ;)

End of the day, he's been doing it for years and I don't see much changing.

No difference really from any other company PR/Spin Doctor department. The only real difference is that SRB tends to be personally vocal rather than letting a minion deliver the news.
