Neil wrote:The new levels being discussed in this thread are for a round trip, it clearly states so in the big bold heading that it is" required miles for a round trip upgrade" and then each destination is listed below.

It is frustrating to have two sets of info, but as the new mileage levels don't come in to effect until 1st Feb they still need to quote the old information on the site also, which is why the FAQ's linked to by Penny are correct, but that is currently valid.

The VS page has changed to state that the table of miles are for one way upgrade prices

Maybe I missed it on this thread, but although the number of miles required for a reward seat redemption seem to have gone down, the fee/surcharge has gone up considerably! An UC return reward flight from JFK to LHR has gone down from 90k to 80k, but the surcharge has gone up from what I recall was about $600 to over $1,000! The flight doesn't feel particularly 'free' when you still have to pay over $1,000!

Check out the VS Facebook page, mtyrrell - it seems VS are charging approx. 50% higher in constant currency terms for US based travellers than those from other countries.

Look for a few posts by "Dave" on there for details... Yes, the surcharges have gone up - but what is $500 (equivalent) for a UK ticketed return flight is around $750 in fuel surcharges if ticketed from the US... :(
