Hopefully others will have the mail now or shortly, but you can register to get extra miles if you fly before the 15th June. 5000 miles for a Y round trip, 10,000 for PE, and 15,000 for UC.

And what lovely timing as I had just that second booked my next UC trip to NY!

Looks like you get the bonus for every flight as well!

Just checked my e-mail account and have received the e-mail, thought I's have a quick look at the sign up process and first you have input your FC number and then at the next step, answer 2 out of 5 questions, but the questions are the likes of Date of Last flight, Date of Birth, Post Code, first line of address etc. You get 3 attempts before your online access to your account is denied.

Wouldn't Virgin already have the information we are being asked to input? Which means they shouldn't need to ask for it to sign up. Playing devils advocate, here, is this a genuine VS offer or something more shady?

I cannot find anything on the VS website that mentions this either.

I see what you mean now! I hope it's all bona fide and not a phishing email? Does anybody know? Too late for me I have already registered... :|

Unlikely to be phishing unless someone hacked in and got your individual miles balance that's shown at the top of the mail. Plus as that balance is the best part of 2 weeks out of date - as usual with VS mailings - I think we can take it to be genuine :o)

I wouldn't have thought it was a phishing email as you enter your FC number which is provided on the original email sent to you.

Had a look at the T&C's, I would have thought it would have been an initiative for you to book - rather than anyone travelling who has already booked,

I'm not complaining as it's a great offer, I just don't see what Virgin get by offering up to 15,000 miles to people who have already booked and are flying within the dates mentioned.

Thank you for that, I was starting to kick myself.

Just goes to show how easily you can get sucked in - I know now that this was genuine, but I thought I would be more "aware" than that. Clearly not. B)

Lucky for me, we will be getting the 15,000 miles each! Thanks again, totally lost.

Yes, that's how I'm reading it. Would be a bit of a bugger otherwise as I got the mail and registered literally seconds after booking a flight! Not to mention another one I have had planned for a while in early June.

Also excludes children under 12 with 002 prefix accounts - was briefly hoping I could get 5k each for my 2 on our Dubai trip, but the site wouldn't let me register them and then I saw the small print. Doh.

Having just given the successful registration email a proper read, why can't Virgin Atlantic get consistency right?

Old flying club logo
Old livery on photo of areoplane
Old credit card faces in photo
Listing BMI as an ideal partner airline for miles earning (yes still current but not for much longer)
Plus only 33 destinations, 35 listed in the email alerting us about the offer.

Also what is the "Flying Hub"?
Defunct? Yet to be introduced? Typo?

No mention of miles-upgraded tickets -- do people think that such flights will earn the correct bonus for the revenue part of the ticket?

Logic would suggest so since you earn miles and TPs, but...
