On arrival at LHR there was no record of my booking for drive through check in so I was dropped outside the normal check in area, there was no one in line so I made my way straight to one of the agents who greeted me and dealt with my oversize Snowboard bag quickly and efficiently I was through the security channel within five minutes of being dropped off at the kerb.
The clubhouse was fairly quiet when I arrived so I booked myself in for a shave, then went and had some breakfast the full English with a Latte being my choice, I enjoyed both, then it was time for my shave which I have to say was one of the best I have ever had. Time for a quick glass of Champagne before heading off to the boarding gate which was roughly a five minute walk.
Boarding had already begun so I walked straight onto the plane G-VGAS, I was welcomed aboard and pointed to my seat, refreshments were offered promptly and accepted. The cabin was clean and comfortable.
We took off on time and the cabin service began with the FSM introducing himself and welcoming me back onboard by name (a nice touch I thought).
The service was excellent throughout the entire flight the crew were friendly and professional the whole time.
During the meal service I opted for the Thai Red Chicken Curry followed by Sticky Toffee Pudding and a few glasses of the Malbec.
The IFE was V-Port, as usual I only used the iMap feature and listened to an Audiobook before sleeping for about five hours, I was woken up with a cup of coffee about an hour before landing.
We landed early and I cleared immigration quickly to retrieve my Snowboard from the oversize luggage belt and actually loaded my rental car as we were due to land.
All in all another great performance by the VA team.
