Hmmmm, according to the Status Updates page which is a direct feed from VS, it doesn't leave HKG until the 16th :?

So do we think virgin will be officially letting us know the new premium cabin layouts soon or will it be a case of waiting for a fellow v-flyer to report.

I have been watching the load check on my flight to cancun on 12th June and upper class has been full since the middle of march. Hopefully we will be lucky enough to get barbella and possibly even SRB on the inaugural flight!

I *cough* found the new seat map on the VS website the other week by changing the bit at the end of the web URL to type=16 here

Unfortunately not, the 'inaugural' will be on July 7 and it's anyone's guess whether SRB will be on it - I'll report ;) . It should be quite a party!

Are you saying that VROM will not be back in service till the 7th July? Whats it going to be doing for a month and a half?

No, what Slinky is saying is that the 'inaugral' flight will be the press flight on the 7th July rather than the actual first flight on 12th June.

I notice from the flight updates that VAST is off to Hong Kong today/tomorrow.

Is it really going to be 12th June when VROM comes back into service? Seems like a long time to be an aircraft down with VAST out of service too

No VROM will be back in a few days and straight into service to replace VAST which is the next to be refitted. I expect one of the refitted a/c will be used on the Cancun inaugural, will be good publicity.

Now looks like it will be 22nd May when ROM and AST swap, so ROM's first flight fropm LGW/MAn should be 23rd May??

that downstairs cabin looks cramped to me, be interesting to see some TRs to see what others think

No sorry afraid not. No news as to where the extra leg-room Y seats will be located yet.

At a *guess* I'd say there will be located in the same areas as the current MAN/LGW 744's (although I don't know where they are either sorry!!)

I don't hold out much hope for actually coming home from MCO on Barbarella on VS74 /June 15th anyway. I'd like to know the legroom seats just in case though ;)

IIRC, the extra legroom seats have to be requested at checkin, and you have to specifically ask for the extra leg room seats.

You can't just book them by seat number and chance on it being the extra leg room ones...

You can phone customer servives up and request (and pay for) them but you won't be able to select the exact seats yourself.

Actually it is the 22nd now. Where it shows flight date is the original planned flight date, but if you look at the out/push back times etc, it shows the current planned flight date and time, so while the original date still shows the 16th, it isn't due to operate until the 22nd now.

I've already paid for extra legroom seats on our 15 the June flight, hence my interest in their location - so I'm in the know at check in when they say which rows are available.
I've got the seat maps of the different configs saved on my phone :)

Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but where are you seeing aircraft status updates so far in advance? The Status page in the toolbox only shows same day movement.

Thank you!

VAST leaves Gatwick on 21/05 at 1400 and arrives at HKG at 0900 on 22/05.......the crew then presumably have a little break and then get on VROM which has a departure time of 1230 on 22/05 and arrives back at LGW at 1825 (all times local)
