Hello!

I have tried to searh the forum but couldn't find a specific answer to this...

...I have a T class booked and would like to change the date on the booking to fly back from BGI a day later than I have booked. I believe a reward booking is like booking a Y (full fare) so in theory, as long as there is availability - which there is - I can change the date with no penalty?

Can someone in the know on such matters confirm this for me - or is there a change fee anyway?

Many thanks in advance.

A few years ago I cancelled a reward flight LHR-EWR in September I was told I could re-schedule the flights anytime over the next twelve months, I ended up taking a LHR-SFO in February I only had to pay an admin charge £25 back then.

I changed my date and return airport recently (from ex-SFO to ex-YVR). There is a change fee and in this instance there was a difference in taxes to be paid.

Surely there needs to be Reward seats available on the flight you are changing to? Otherwise you could just book a reward seat on any date where they were available and chenge to the date you want for a few pounds?
Am I missing something?

Spill you are correct - there does need to be reward availability on the proposed new date.

That is a very good point Spill. I booked a reward ticket for a few months ago. Had to change the day, only by a day. They changed it for me no questions asked but I am sure when I checked on-line there were no reward seats offered........

The OP said there was availability so that bit wasn't really part of the discussion. I would have mentioned it if he hadn't already said it but if the question had been about upgrading generally then I would
