This flight met with my VS 085 from Manchester and I must say having 4 hours 50 mins in between was very helpful as we had to wait on the Tarmac on the 085 as the Gatwick virgin and a 747 Lufthhansa had landed so the international terminal was full.

Once through immigration and onto the domestic terminal which took less than 10 mins I was really impressed with Virgin America. This had been my first flight with them so we paid the cheap 69 dollars economy ticket and realised you need to pay 25 dollars for any checked bag in that cabin so we quickly upgraded the day before to main cabin select for 78 dollars for the two of us which allowed 1 free checked bag :D .

Also we decided at the airport to upgrade for the hell of it to first which was another 78 dollars but it was my 50th so let's go in style. Once on the plane it was crisp ,clean and it was nice to see the captain give a good hello brief before we took off.

We had a very light load and took off on time with a flight time of 1 hour and 25 mins. Mrs f was shattered after all we had been on the go now for nearly 24 hours by the time we got to San Francisco.

I played with the seat and entertainment and was really impressed with the Virgin America product and would certainly use them for any internal flight again y) y) .

Although a short flight we were looked after very well and I enjoyed my first flight with VA.

If there's space in Main Cabin Select the upgrades at check-in can be a total steal on short and medium haul when you're travelling with checked bags. I did LAX-SFO a few weeks ago where is was $39: given the baggage fee is $25, that's $14 for extra leg room and all the food/booze you want.

I am really liking the sound of the Virgin America product - it seems very pax friendly, bright, cheery and inexpensive. Going to have to find an excuse to give it a go :D

Thanks for posting y)
