After getting excited about Alamo online check in for car hire at MIA, it appears that because we booked through an agency, this is not available. Can anyone shed any light on this please? Also, are all of the rental desks at Miami now in the one place? My travel agent, Dial-a-flight says he doesn't know anything about a monorail??? Says he was there recently. Time to change booking agents maybe? Thanks.. :0

Walking all the way would of been better than what it used to be! the MIA Mover is a very welcome addition

Agreed! The last 'system' or distinct lack of one was carnage! Unfortunate about the online check in as it is worth it's weight on the other end of a long flight.

If you can, try to leave at least one of your party (if you are not traveling alone that is) back at the terminal.
Take the Monorail (people mover), pick up the car and drive back to arrivals to collect the others.

That's what we did last week, it saved shlepping hoards of luggage.

Surly there must be a way of obtaining a reference number so you can do check in on line.

Good luck.

Already tried that, seems that if you don't book directly, or with VH No can do...Talk about the haves and have nots.... Good bye Dial A Flight.

That seems mad. We were given a separate Alamo ref with our voucher as the VH ref didn't work with the Alamo on line check in.
Hope you can sort it.

I have exactly the same problem. When I enter the Alamo reference into Alamo.com, it tells me it is an agent booking and I can't go further. So I called Alamo and they told me I can't check in online.

One question. How bad are the car hire desk queues at 7.00am on a Saturday morning? Am I in for a long wait in line or my car?

Thanks
