I booked to fly to Orlando through jetsave(not knowing they didn't release the booking until very close to the flight)I need to book extra legroom seats because my wife has a muscle wasting condition, but I didn't know I couldn't book them because I didn't book through virgin.can I buy extra legroom seats through OLCI or do I have to wait till I get to the airport or does anyone else have any ideas?

Many Thanks for any replys

Hi Woppy

As you have booked through Jetsave and not direct with Virgin, it does look very much like you might have to wait until OLCI

The relevant link to the VS site is here and you will see these seats can be popular.

It might be worth giving Virgin Special Assistance a call to see if your wife's condition falls within their remit

Definitely let Jetsave know. They can liaise with Virgin.

According to the VS website you can only pre-book by calling VS if you have booked directly with them. In all other cases they are bought at the airport and not at OLCI.

Buns's advice about giving Special Assistance is a sound one and one I would have advocated myself. If extra legroom seats are not available they may be able to help in getting a bulkhead assigned for you

Hi Woppy

We would be happy to hear from you direct so we can try to help, particularly as your wife has some special requirements that we'd like to make sure Jetsave and Virgin get right for her.

We do hold an allocation of Virgin seats, but we can release names and issue tickets earlier than 30 days, especially if there are medical reasons for specific seats. Depending on your wife's condition we may not be able to pre-book emergency exit seats for the extra leg room because of mobility issues, but Virgin Atlantic sell a number of regular seats with increased leg room which can be pre-purchased. Normally seats can only be pre-booked once full payment has been made on the holiday however we can liaise with Virgin to find the best solution depending on your wife's needs and when you are travelling.

I'm sorry if the information you have received from us previously has not been helpful, but please can you email me at [email protected] with your booking reference and the most convenient telephone number so I can ask a Jetsave specialist to call you back to help?

Many thanks

Jo

This is something Jetsave really need to address. They at the very least need to make customers aware of this when they book. We are in a similar situation in that we are travelling with 2 elderly people, one of which is a very nervous flyer who needs a window as if she cannot see out of the plane she becomes very claustrophobic.

All of this is not usually an issue as I would pre select seats or at worst get seats required during OLCI.

I would have probably not booked with Jetsave had I known this facility was not available to me and I have read on here and several other forums people stating the same. If Jetsave want to get repeat bookings from people like this they need to address this locator number issue.

Why can they not release the names to Virgin as and when they receive the bookings? Why the need to wait until 30 days before the flight?
