Anyone know what has happened to this flight?

It was due to be a 747 and we were allocated 20 D & G and 21G (all in UC). Carefully chosen, so hopedully we can keep a very close eye on Jnr....

I have checked in and we have been moved to 6K (me), 7D (toddler) and 7A (husband). Presumably an equipment change to an A340-600?

"Seat Map Not Available" on OLCI - so I cannot move us back together.

Anything I can do now or do I need to wait until the airport tomorrow?

Thanks
QT

Sounds like a shuffle and a need to arrive early for checkin so that VS can reseat you ... more time to enjoy the clubhouse!

This is the seat map -- it is indeed an A346. 8A is free so it is odd they put you in 6K. You could call them or just sort it out at the airport.

:D I know what you are thinking...

It is certainly possible, but I reckon UC must be pretty near full already -- will be a close-run thing. ;)

Thank you very much. Seems REALLY odd that I wasn't put in 8A: maybe computerised reseating, rather than manual?

I just phoned Virgin (on the Upper Class line) and was told that they can't access seating once OLCI has opened - I need to talk to someone at the airport.

We are leaving here at 7am and hope to get there between 8.30am and 9am (can't leave any earlier - are expecting a clear M4, I hope!).

Hope that they can help at check-in, failing that we will have to ask onboard - hopefully someone sitting next to Jnr would rather sit the other other side of the plane from him ;)

May see you tomorrow, then, Vizbiz...

Those are different fare codes. If you go into 'Toolbox' within this site and select 'Fare Codes' then all will be explained.

J/C/D/I/Z are fare buckets in Upper Class
W/S/K are fare buckets in Premium
Y etc are for Economy

They are the codes for different ticket types so J,W and Y are fully flexible tickets allowing for cancellations and changes etc. As you go down the list the fares become cheaper but with more and more restrictions and less and less flying club miles.

The numbers mean how many tickets VS are still prepared to sell (not how many seats are available to sell(. If it is 9 it means 9 or more. Less than 9 is the actual numbers.

But you yon't add the numbers in each group - so in the above example there are 6 in Upper Class not 30.

Thanks for the advice.

Airport couldn't swap the seats, but a very nice lady onboard obliged (has 3 kids - said she completely understood.

Great flight, Jnr behaved well, I sat next to Amir Kahn but didn't realise until after we got off the plane (and husband told me!).

New UC menu. Smoked salmon or tomato soup. Fillet, chicken stirfry or some sort of tortellini (but not the same one as last menu). Salted caramel choc pudding or lemon almond tart.

Great, really helpful crew :)

Glad it worked out for you. y)

The UC menu sounds good. I'm flying at the end of June and already I'm having difficulty in choosing what to have :D

:| Thanks James and Penny. Must remember - google is our friend.

My only excuse - and it goes for the "ir" too - is that I was still laughing from the scene on "The Apprentice" where one of the candidates put in a business plan that featured zero costs.
