...managed to nab Seq. 2 for the inaugural VX SFO-PDX tomorrow! Expect an interesting trip report based on this email I got from VX recently:

Dear Simon,

Thank you for flying with us. Your booked flight VX Flight 816 SFO – PDX on June 5thth will be a festive one as it will mark Virgin America’s inaugural service to Portland. There will be media outlets and cameras onboard, along with complimentary food and cocktail service.

This flight will arrive at a remote location at PDX where you'll be welcomed by local media, music, food and drink and special guests -- and we will have shuttles to transport you back to baggage claim and the main terminal. The location is a three minute shuttle bus trip back to the main terminal.

If you have a connecting flight upon landing at PDX, please respond to this email to let us know.

If for any reason you would like to change your reservation to an alternate flight on June 5 - 7*, we are happy to do so and we will waive all change fees/fare differences in the same class of service. If you have any questions, please ring our Reservations Center at 1.877.FLY.VIRGIN (1.877.359.8474).

Thank you for your patience with this change and we look forward to welcoming you onboard soon.

*Subject to availability.

Cheers,

Virgin America

There's much debate on who exactly the "special guests" might be, I'm hoping for Selma Blair and Heather Graham who were both in the TV show Portlandia!

Looking forward to the TR. We have great memories of our short stay in Portland a couple of years ago...

couldn't be happier they finally offer pdx flights. Here's just hoping one day there would be a London-PDX flight but i guess now that they've got vancouver they wont do the NW anymore.
