I am looking at taking an upper class flight from Gatwick to Las Vegas and wanted to see what the upper class cabin looks like. I've done a search on here and on youtube, but the videos I've seen look like a new cabin

Am I right in thinking this new cabin is not the one that is on the VS43/44 route?

Should I just be searching for upper class in a 747-400 ?

Any help in pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. :)

Yes, that is the UC cabin on a LGW flight. The LGW fleet is currently undergoing a refurbishment in PE and Y cabins and UC is having a deep clean and being refreshed with a new IFE being introduced. There are only 14 suites in the LGW fleet so it is an intimate cabin and very pleasant

The new cabins you referred to are being introduced on the new A330-300s joining the fleet

Are any of these 14 seats held back for OLCI like in PE?
After now booking the flight, the only options I have on the outbound leg are by the bar 11/12 A/K. The rest are all greyed out.

The return leg I had a choice of all but 5 seats (6-9A & 7K).

Yes the 60% rule applies to UC too but it might be worth checking a couple of hours before OLCI opens as sometimes they open up a little early,

No they are not held back. The reason PE has been is because of the refits of the LGW fleet because the configuration is being changed. From what you say all the seats have been selected except those. If you are a lone traveller I would recommend either 11/12A (nearest the door) but if you are a couple either 11/12A or 11/12K. As a couple do not go for an A/K combo. You will be on the opposite sides of the cabin with the bar in between. I can still remember a honeymoon couple who had booked 12A/K thinking they would be next to each other only to find that they couldn't be further apart. :0

tonty, if those seats are available for selection they won't have reached the 60% quota but selecting two seats will. |:)

I was speaking in generalities as Lenshiro asked if UC seats were held back rather than the specific flight

Kenshiro wrote:Thank you for the replies. I am a solo traveller. I will select one on the "A" side. I have 8K on the return leg. I am just browsing through the seat maps review from the toolbpx to see what others have said.

Thanks again.

None of those are a bad choice y)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itl8teKvFlo

Some of the other videos I looked at seemed to have a whole plane full of upper class pods including two pods in the middle.

That's me :D :D :D

Apologies on the video being a little dark ( and also on the champagne not being opened yet - can only assume that was the second bottle :P )

afaik, and I could be wrong, but at least on LHR routes upper doesn't shut at 60%. I have seen it where all but one seat has been selected recently?
