Just got back from Tenerife at 3am this morning, Jet2 flight delayed 2.5hrs

Reason..As briefed to us by our pilot explaining delay:

Outbound from UK, 1 hr into flight, soon after seatbelt signs turned off, someone stood up to get stuff out of overhead bins...

"2 bottles" fell out and hit a lady on the head in the below aisle seat....serious enough head injury to cause a turn around and ambulance off to hospital. Nasty B) n(

frighteningly hope these Pilots get enough rest... as we taxied out on to the runway for take off... the 2 "dings" and announced " Cabin Crew seats for landing" :0

luckily flight uneventful, if not a god unearthly hour to be returning.

Very true! What I've seen an American take on as "acceptable" hand luggage would clothe an entire African nation ):

'Bout the same chance of convincing them as you have of convincing a holidaying brit to not fill the overhead bins with bottles of booze that don't, unlike carry-ons, stay in place and might actually injure someone :D
