A little bit late in getting out my trip review but things have been a bit manic since I got back. Holiday got off to a nice start with an invite to use the UC Wing facility Very smooth my husband dropped me off and a nice man just took my bag away and a nice lady took me through the process for checkin and I was on my way to duty free and the UC lounge. Had a light breakfast then waited for flight call .

The new UC suite is very different to the old suite, not keen on the brown seats but settled down in my seat 6A. Probably as it is all very new the seats felt a little stiff but got on with checking out all the new items. Of course had my champagne in the new style glasses and I loved them as very 50's Hollywood style . Had a couple of very nice attentive stewards so was never short of a drink . Menu was a step up from my last trip in UC Dec 2010. I liked the change on pop down ledge for your drinks and the new lighting was ok. I did like the elbow pop down rest and better positioning for your headphones. Screen didn't seem to have as much manouverability as in the old suite. Have to say the storage box and seat are useless, I wouldn't want to sit on the seat for too long and you cannot get anything unless it is very flat and small into it or under it. I liked the touch screen but movie choice was a bit iffy. I played a few games and that was fun with the touch screen. The screens are opaque but although you cannot see clearly the person or their movie screen through them you can make outlines and it seemed like the screens were a lot lower than the original screens. Aisle was a bit tight due to the double row in the middle as opposed to one. Although seating is in chevron style most passengers felt we were constantly staring at each other . New style bar looks nice but did not use it. Lighting is very nice and moody at times.

A nice comfortable flight and very quick. We came in to different gate area and it all looked new and very nice but was not happy with the crowds we met at the immigation. I've never come in on the first flight to JFK and had a huge queue to wait in. It was fairly well organised and in total was 45 mins before I got to a desk and very quickly through and case was already waiting for me and I was off out for a taxi.

Overall I liked the new UC suite (just not the brown colourin) bring back the purple .
