Hi there I am flying UC JFK-LHR on VS4. According to the VS website the VS4 is fitted with the new suites. My question is on the day I am travelling next March the flight is operated by the A340-300 will this be fitted with the new suite or not? thanks

Hi and welcome.

The VS3/4 is operated by the new A333 a/c 6 days a week and is fitted with the brand new UCS. The other day it is currently operated by an A343 a/c, I believe it is a Friday that is it operated by the A343 a/c, and these are not fitted with the brand new UCS, they have the UC that is on all the other a/c in the fleet.

Thanks,
Neil

They haven't announced any plans to fit the new UCS in to the existing fleet, it will be only installed on the new A333 entering the fleet.

And the bad news is that, unless you get G-VSUN you don't get V-PORT on the A343 v(

Frankly, having taken the VS3 on an A333 this week, you should be lucky you got an A343. The new UCS for me is a step backward.

brill thanks everyone. So what would be the best aircraft to travel on for UC? I am not willing to book the A330 due to the early departure on March 9th from JFK. So would I be better going for the 744 or A346? thanks!

Its a personal choice, but it's the 747 every time for me. Downstairs in the
nose on the way out and upstairs in the sleep zone coming back. Some people however prefer the airbus.

Too darn right, I'll be going out of my way to use the 744s, not only for the A zone, but also for the 'classic' style of UCS... I'm sitting on the VS200 now and there's not an 'opaque screen' in sight. Bliss...

I don't get this 'should I get a 747 or 330/343/346 flight?'

Afterall VS can soon change the plane and what would people do then? And as you have already found the A330 dosen't run the VS3/4 on Fridays.

Choose the flight that works best in terms of your plans to get to LHR and what you need to do when you get there rather than to be on a particular plane type.

Yep, the A330 doesn't fly the route on Fridays
