Hi all,

This is my first post, so I hope I'm in the right place. In January, I was issued a Red Select voucher to stay one extra night due to overbooking. I used that voucher to book a flight from LAX to LHR for the summer to be with my husband who lives in London (I live in LA). Anyway...at the time of booking, they couldn't find any dates for a return from LHR to LAX, so I chose a return on 20 July from Gatwick to Las Vegas (with the plan to drive home from Las Vegas or hop a budget flight to LA). Now I am thinking about whether it would be possible for Virgin Atlantic to change the date of my flight to a LHR to LAX return at a later date?? I am on summer holiday, so I can stay another week or so past 20 July and it won't be a problem. Any idea in your experiences if I might be able to do this with a Class O ticket and what the change fee might be (an estimate is fine!)??? Any advice or information would be awesome! Thank you!

Welcome!

The standard change fee on an O fare is £100, I think.

I may be completely wrong but I don't think you can generally change the routing in this way on an O ticket. You may end up having to pay a substantial fare difference.

It would probably be simplest to call VS to discuss your options.

Best of luck.

as you are on a 'red select' flight that comes from the award booking allocation so I belive that there would need to be reward availability on your new dates for you to swap into.

Changing dates and routes is something you need to do over the phone with VS customer services as they can check the fare rules and availability. It may take some time !

A further complication may be that a 'week or so' after the 20th July lands you in prime UK summer holiday territory as well as a foretold mass Olympic Games exodus from the UK.

Good luck ! and welcome

Hi Jennifer,

Red Select Vouchers are changeable free of charge at anytime subject to O class being available. It is also re-routable without penalty. So as long as O class is available on the LAX flights you can come off the Vegas.

Hope it works out.

Kind Regards.
