Look at The Toolbox at the top of the page and click on Status Updates. Flight numbers beginning with 8 are positioning flights

so does that mean each refit takes 6 weeks total? they're not going to get it done by October at this rate.

Given they planned to do each in 4 weeks, thats not very impressive performance by the refitters. Maybe they are having un-foreseen problems?

I reckon that they estimated each refit would take around 4 weeks and now they are starting to find out it will be longer than that. Surely they will get a bit quicker with each a/c once they have done a couple. You would think so anyway.

I doubt they will make the deadline at this rate but I could be wrong. Since when does anything like this get finished on time though.

well if they start the third aircraft on 6 July and assuming 6 weeks per aircraft that is 16 weeks and 5 days until 31 October.

So they will get 2 more aircraft done, possibly 3, giving a total of 4/5 ready by end of October.

It's looking like if I go to Vegas in October BA will get my business or I will fly to LA first.

That information will not be available until the day of the flight. No airline publicly announces which a/c will operate which route in advance for security reasons.

I think VS are lining up all their ducks in a row to be completed together. Refitting the LGW 744s, repainting the older a/c in new livery, and completeing the update of the website - all scheduled for December .....

You hope, the web site may make it by 2020, hopefully the refits a little earlier, but fixing the reward availability tool on the web site, well that's slated for the 2031 release :o) .

and another delay. Slipped back to the 8th July now. Very similar pattern to what happened with VROM.

I predict the refit schedule stands very little chance of being completed on any date in October. More like end of November/start of December at this rate.

I also note that no other LGW plane is scheduled to go to HKG yet.

That isn't correct. G-VLIP is scheduled to fly to HKG the day after G-VAST returns.

I stand corrected - I didn't see G-VLIP on the update page earlier.

Maybe we should have a sweepstake to predict when it will come back?
