Ok raw nerves I can see...but was not being specific just generalising...
TSA locks can be opened by anyone..so...anyone could have opened them...locks and keys limited in number.. This could be happening from the point of receipt at DTD to the stuffing of the bins at the airport so anyone could be involved. The TSA are most probably to blame but they insist that any property removed is passed to lost luggage at orlando. God forbid they would steal it!!... Just because the TSA have inspected the bags it doesnt neccessarily mean that they took the stuff... In the past they have been good at spilling liquids everywhere but thats pretty normal, once lost a skateboard but US found it at lost and found and sent it over. My frustration here is that VIRGIN baggage do not answer their phone....its the las part of the puzzle....why have a baggage dept if they dont respond??? and nottingham nick...get a life man its just a typo!!

So, I got 'the note' in my checked bag when I opened it upon arrival in Montreal, however, the note is from Covenant Aviation Security LLC and not the TSA, explains that they're a private company under contract with the TSA = basically, SFO has ditched the TSA for it's checked baggage screening.

I find it a bit unfair that a new poster here has quite legitimately mentioned that this could be virgins fault, and yet as soon as they have done so, have been jumped on by moderators.

Are virgin suddenly beyond reproach?

No, but neither are TSA. Before anyone make allegations in a public forum they need to be sure of thier facts.

In this instance, it could be a whole multitude of people or agencies responsible, not just VS

But surely you hand your bags over to the care of the airline. Does this not make them responsible to us the customer and they should with anyone else involved?

But should an airline be held responsible for the actions of a law enforcement agency that it has no control over?
