20H&K are the front row upstairs and look pretty good to me :)

Yes, that would be the new config.

This was posted in another thread but according to:-

the-toolbox/status-updates

G-VAST is due back on 6 July 2012 from Hong Kong - so 6 weeks. Looks like refit is running behind and there is no sign yet of which aircraft is going over there next.

G-VROM appears to do the Orlando/caribbean routes a lot and predictably did the first LAS flight into Terminal 3. Hopefully G-VAST coming back will be focused on other routes.

What other routes? The flights ex LGW/MAN are either to MCO, the Caribbean or LAS.

I meant not just the Carribean routes which G-VROM appears to have focused on - with a few flights to LAS.

LAS actually has done quite well on G-VROM.

Out of 27 flights they have been:
TAB/GND - 1
ANU (direct) - 1
MBJ - 2
UVF - 2
LAS - 5
MCO - 7
BGI - 9

So it is the third most used route for her, and what that does show is that they really have mixed it around all the flights/destinations.

I'm flying out on 2nd august to las Vegas from MAN and returning 23rd...do you think it would be unrealistic to say that by then I will have a 3/7 chance of getting a newly refurbed plane?

I honestly think that it's best not to get your hopes up but be delighted if you do. In any case, you'll probably have a 2 in 7 chance given the current pace ...

Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. I'm sure it will be a great flight regardless if we get a refurbed plane or not, but If we do then it would be an added bonus :-)

Does anyone know if vs65 to Montego bay tomorrow is on Barbarella? Has anyone got any way of finding that out?

At the moment there is no way to know for certain, but as she will be operating the VS44 back from LAS and that isn't due in to LGW until 10:29, it is probably a bit tight to expect it to be turned around ready to operate your MBJ at 12:10.

I would expect it to probably operate the 1pm MCO flight, but that is just my guesswork rather than any factual statement.

Hi,

Whilst waiting for my VS075 flight on 19th June I spied a Virgin 747 landing and taxiing in right in front of me. At first I thought, that looks pretty new, must have had a wash recently! Then I noticed as it came towards me it was G-VROM Barbarella, and I must say it looked magnificent, I especially liked the metallic red paint as opposed to the flat red paint on VKSS Mme Rouge I flew on. When I said to my travelling party, "Wow that's the only refurbed 747 Virgin have out in service at the moment", it kinda fell on deaf ears... if only everyone was a geek like me!

If I have this the right way

The VS 747s now go to FRA for their heavy maintenace checks (it used to be AMS). The Aurbus go to MNL.

MAN for paint jobs and HKG for the refurbs.

We have G-VROM refitted and in full operation, and G-VAST that is refitted and returned to LGW yesterday evening, so should be in operation any time soon. G-VLIP is due to fly to HKG today to start it's refit.

given that it is taking 6 weeks per aircraft (previously they thought 4 weeks) I think you could expect one more aircraft to be completed by September.

So you will have a 3 in 8 chance of being on a refitted plane.
