I have booked a holiday with virgin holidays on the 29th march 2013, i logged into the mmb on va and i noticed i'm booked on vs015 on the out going flight, i was sure i'd booked vs027, so i found my booking confirmation and yes i'd booked vs027, i called virgin holidays and the guy i spoke to wasnt very helpful and appeared mis-informed, first he tried to tell me it was because in november va are starting to refit the plane interiors, i pointed out that this wasnt correct and the refits had already started, he then put me on hold and came back with va are no longer flying the vs027 route from novemeber (everything seems to be november) i pointed out that vs027 is potentially the airlines most popular route, he agreed and put me back on hold, he then came back and told me 2 weeks ago virgin changed the schedule and thats the flight I am now on, i asked why i hadnt been informed and was told that there was a big long list of people to call and i must be near the bottom, i asked why 2 weeks wasn't long enough to call or email 300 people, he didnt know, he suggested if i didnt like the change i could cancel my holiday and forefit my deposit, conversation over,
I called va and asked the same question, the lady who spoke to me was very well informed and a whole lot more helpful, she advised me that va will not be stopping the vs027 route, and there had been a schedule change for the 29th march, she was unsure why as the the days either side are fine, she also told me that va did the schedule change at 15.03 on the 28 june, so not 2 weeks ago, but last thursday, now i'm not so annoyed that i havent been informed yet.
It makes me cross when im not told the the truth,
I dont believe the vh guy purposely lied to me, i think we was trying to wing it and maybe it might have worked on another customer,
in trying to tell me what he thought i wanted to hear he missed one vital thing, i only wanted the truth ?|

It sounds like very poor customer service. It is never great when you have to decide whether someone is lying or just incompetent.

I would be very annoyed with the customer service from VH on this occasion v( - I think the problem for these 'advisors' these days is they do not realise that we mortals have access to the enormous wealth of knowledge on this amazing forum ^) and therefore are able to sniff bs a mile away ):

I'm with you on this one. Most people just want to get an explanation and then move on.

I don't understand why VH couldn't have notified you by email as soon as VS told them of the change.

I have had a similar experiance with the same flight number, they changed the aircrft and times for our flight and never told us. It seems to be a reoccouring theme with Virgin Holidays and Atlantic Poor Customer Service

I had the same problem with VH. Change from a direct flight to JFK to indirect via Atlanta.

They insisted they had emailed me but when I spoke to a supervisor they admitted they hadn't.

Got it sorted but it took some doing.

This was NOT a VS flight.

To be fair when I have booked with VS direct and they have changed a flight timing they have let me know via email / text.

I've had changes before but I've always had to accept the change in mmb, this time I've been put on a different flight and that is that, no explanations, I had to call them.
I'm still none the wiser why vs027 has been cancelled on the 29th, it seems like such a long time away to know there will be issues with aircraft, the only thing I can think of is it's related to the day as its good Friday

Just checked our flight for Thursday 28th March 2013 still shows the Airbus but departure time of 10.40. I`ve had no contact from VA to why this has changed :0

end of March is usually when the summer timetables kick in, and also when the clocks have changed, so you may find flights are moved slightly

I think I remember reading on another feed on here that the times for the VS27 operating on the A330 has been changed as the A330 is a bit slower than the 747 and so there is a longer flight time.

I have had an email today apologising for not telling me the flight vs027 had been cancelled, but the flight now isn't cancelled and in fact flying but I'm not allowed back on it?

I would just not accept this apology, if you really want to travel on the VS27.

Your original booking reference stated the VS27 and this is not in doubt because you now have an e-mail apologising for not informing you of the 'cancellation'.

However there is a VS 27 travelling on Friday 29th March and I can see no reason why VH will not put you onto this flight. I would never accept this is not possible and would demand to be allocated seats. There does not appear to be any grounds for them refusing. They must rectify their mistake.

Wow, I hope those passengers get compensation having to travel down to London Gatwick from Manchester then v(

Seems like a bit of a mess all round. Normally VS put on as many flights as possible to Orlando knowing its Easter.
