I had heard you became a UNIQ when attaining 100TP on VS. You can imagine my dissapointment when I got 101 and nothing happened. I had thought it would be like UA where when you hit the 'threshold' it automatically kicks in.
110 came and went as did 120 (all flying on Y and PE tickets by the way). Then the envolope landed on the matt with the some vague details inside - I actually think that is part of the fun of it. You are not quite sure what you get - all I can say is that there is a small dedicated team(and easily contactable which in itself is a huge plus) in London who do whatever they can to smooth the rough edges off travel. (they clearly have a very wide discretion).
There is more to it than just getting 100TP but what I don't know. It probably varies by customer as some will be high spending J and some will be not so high spending but more frequent Y.
Why the mystery works well is because once you have it you really do not want to lose it - so you just put as much business as you possibly can with VS to keep their attention. Which , from their point of view, is the very point of it.

its a clubhouse invite to give to family or friend that is not specifically travelling with you on same day

I think it's intended more as a 'friends and family' type of invite. For example, right now, I pay for my children to come into the clubhouse with me when flying Y on holidayd because of the 1 guest only rule.

(Which incidentally is a constant sore point for me - others will say that I'm not looking at my glass as half full and that charging for additional guests is VS's commercial prerogative... But it's not something I've experienced in other shared lounges that Virgin uses)

Thanks for the info JCBR -- ^)

Is there greater reward availability for UNIQs? Anything like the BA GGL joker?
