We are thinking of going to Dubai for a break over Christmas and perhaps actually taking the Christmas Day flight, which according to Expert Flyer is completely empty at the moment!

I wondered if anybody has experience of flying on Christmas Day itself in terms of how busy flights generally are, and what level of 'festiveness' there is likely to be on board (we are trying to avoid a lot of it this year!).

Also, any suggestions for a good place to stay over this period? We have stayed at both Hiltons before and liked them, but thought it would be good to try another chain perhaps. We prefer the Jumeirah side of town but any hotel near a metro station would be handy. Prefer hotels with an Executive Lounge for the added extras!

Thanks in advance for your help.

we flew BA to Atlanta once xmas day. great fun. plane half full (or empty as is your want) , CC in great spirits ,plenty of drinks on offer, I even got invited to go out in the evening with the CC when we landed....if BA can be that good expect VS to be even better. seems in talking that most pax wanted to fly xmas eve to get there for the main day or boxing day after the celebrations. ISTBC but i think its cheaper too

I flew United once on Xmas Day. A box of Ferrero Rocher for the front desk girl got three of us into the business class lounge. She was in festive mood!

y)

Plane was half full, and the cabin crew were all in Santa hats, dishing out the bubbly to the economy passengers. Was a great flight, from what I can recall. Hic!
