I can't help you but geekily would appreciate the same - perhaps a call to the hotel to see if they can help and allocate one in advance?

I know the club lounge does have views of the runway but not sure about the actual rooms or suites sorry.

Have stayed a few times in both types of suites and have always had an airport/runway view. The Prestige suites are the better bet as they (in our experience thus far) have always been corner suites so have two aspects. As Mitchja says, the executive lounge also has good views of runway/airport etc. IMOH though it is not worth paying the extra for the Prestige suites though as they're not all that up to date (unlike at LHR) but we tend to book the Jnr site and then get an upgrade through the Platinum Accor card (used to be A Club) that we get through Plat AmEx.

I stay at Sofitel gatwick every year in a normal room ( not a suite) and invariably have. Great view of the runway - I will look up the number of the room I usually request and let you know: )

Thank you very much I booked a Prestige so it looks like I will be able to amuse my self with a bottle of bubbly and a bit of plane spotting.

Just be careful with your credit card at reception - perhaps its coincidence but 24 hours later my credit card company has called me with some pretty large amounts being taken around the Crawley area..... Hmmm

Change of plan, Hilton sent me a book a room or lose your points email, turns out I had enough points for the King suite there, so I didnt save my points I spent them. Saved me a few quid.
