My missus is an useless flyer and gets horribly stressed out. Flying LC is even worse when she cannot get an allocated seat,

We are off to Kefalonia at the end of September for a couple of weeks and I will happily pay for Priority Boarding at Gatwick as it works quite well there.

However, if boarding is by means of a bus out to the aitcraft, it is a waste of time as the priority only applies to getting on the bus evidently. Once the doors open, it is the usual scramble to be first up the stairs and grabbing seats wherever possible.

I'm sure that many members here have been to Kefalonia and used EasyJet to get there and back and I am hoping that they will be able to tell me whether it is direct boarding via gates or if it is remote parking and a bus ride to the big silver bird.
Also if they used PB and how well it worked.

Cheers.

I haven't used EZY from LGW so can't comment on the boarding patterns there. When I was flying the STN - EDI route on a weekly basis we occasionally got bussed. The ground agents would attempt to impose order by herding the SBs round one of the doors and instructing the driver to release that door first when the aircraft was reached.

Didn't always work, mind... :w

I had a quick gander at the EZY site as I know they are trialling allocated seating on 14 routes. Unfortunately yours isn't one of them.

Cheers PJH
Yup, I've been watching the allocated seat saga for a while now hoping that they might introduce it on this route as it would save me a lot of stress. Seems they are only going to do it, at this stage anyway, on the more popular routes.

Guess I just need to hope that it is not a major holiday island and it just past the end of the season so the flight might not be that full.

From what I have heard, your experiences at EDI are the exception rather than the norm.

We fly to Rhodes a lot on EZY and always do Speedy Boarding. At Gatwick we've never been coached, always jetty served so among the first on plane. Returning from Rhodes you are always coached to the plane - regardless of airline unless you're domestic in which case you walk (I think from memory Kefallonia is the same) but at Rhodes they always lay on a dedicated coach for speedy boarders.

Thanks

Did speedy boarding last year in Turkey... speedy boarding were on a separate bus (must have been only 10 of us or so!) - had the same in Spain a couple of years back, think its pretty much the norm certainly at airports where they always use buses at least!

Flew into Gatwick not so long ago; whilst it wasn't with EZY all their aircraft that I saw were attached to a jet-bridge.
