After a brilliant holiday it was time to return. A quick check has revealed that unfortunately we were returning on the same plane Pretty Woman. Beaches Negril had been fantastic and as we are Sandals platinum members they laid on a private transfer for our family. This duly deposited us at Montego Bay where there was no queue for UC. Check in this time took much longer with the check in clerk insisting we wrote our names on the UC tags so our cases could be identified! Also we were again given red boarding cards as at LGW. Apparently they have stopped using the purple cards.

The security channel was quick and we had use of the Mobay lounge. This s a vast improvement on the old lounge and was a very pleasant place to end our time in Jamaica. The flight was then called on time only for a second message to follow canceling that instruction. Anyway ten minutes later the call came again and we walked the short distance to the gate only to be met by a very curt ground staff member who made it quite clear hat they were not ready for ANY passenger. I often feel sorry for airlines when heir agency staff let them down. After a few minute we were let through to the start of the airbridge where the problem became apparent. It was the long queue of wheelchairs, but hey I witnessed the miracle of Mobay as one by one they reached the door stood up and walked onto the aircraft.

The cabin was described in my outbound report, but was clean and pre take off drinks were dispatched readily. Again on this flight the crew were superb, attentative and a credit to VS.

One thing that dd disappoint was the return menu. Mustard is a very strong flavor and not everyone's cup of tea. It spoiled the steak and the asparagus was overcooked to destruction. The alternative was jerk chicken. Come on guys anybody who's been to he carribean will know hat your all jerked up after 7 days never mind 10 days. My wife and youngest a veggies and said the Gnogie was awful. What happened to simple food. VS is a British airline lets have the bangers and mash back. Again no cheese trolley but the cheddar was good and I had remembered to save some butter from the bread this time.

A good five hour sleep was then enjoyed by all and breakfast was served. The bacon was like shoe leather. However our friend in PE enjoyed a full English. Would much prefer that.

The captain then announced rather succinctly that due to the number of wheel chairs required at Gatwick that it would take approx 50 mins to get off he plane and that if you could walk down the airbridge to the waiting buggies this would save you time. Yes you guessed it miracle two was about to happen.

Anyway another great flight with a top crew well done. VS.

On a final point on out flight out VS 65 1/7/12 the flight manager I am sorry I can't remember her name but she was Irish took ill and left the aircraft in a wheel chair. If any crew member is reading this I hope she is okay and we would like to wish her well and thank her for her great service. :$

Can't believe the gnocchi is back ... I agree, simple, British food is often appreciated after a while spent away.

Thank you for the TR. We also noticed a long queue of wheelchairs at the airbridge and on arrival at LGW on our trip to Jamaica last January. I agree with you the Mobay lounge is a great improvment on the old one. y)

We were there last September, has the lounge changed since then? It was a nice bar, some tellies and some small sandwiches occasionally...

I wouldn't concern yourself too much with missing out on the PE Full English .... one cherry tomato, one mushroom, a grey sausage, rubbery bacon & even rubberier (sic) egg ... thankfully, no gravy

We were served champagne and there was a choice of sandwiches, fresh fruit, cakes, biscuits, crisps, nuts etc. Hot meals were available to purchase. The last time I was in Montego Bay previously was 1994 and the lounge was a small room with the offering of some alcohol and a packet of peanuts!
