Hello fellow V-flyer's,

Could I tap into the wealth of knowledge on this forum to assist with planning my next trip.

I plan to book a trip June 2013 to San fran and Las Vegas from London.
Looking at maybe 4 nights in SF and 8 in LV.
The options I am looking at are fly LHR-SFO then use Southwest airlines to hop to LAS, then return LAS-LGW.

My wife and I both have a number of miles but not enough (at time of booking)to get a full return upgrade from PE to UC.

So we are thinking of just upgrading the first leg to start the holiday in style.
The flights are available on VA website but not yet on the VH site, if there any benefit in using VH over VA to book our trip in people opinions?, my only benefit will be using the VA AmEx black for miles from the booking.

Also is there more chance of getting 2 x upgrade seats on a flight to SFO or is it more frequent on LAS flights.

Appreciate any advice that can be offered.

Thanks

Hi

SFO on the outbound leg would be a better option for potential upgrades and also you'd be using LHR so would get the full Clubhouse experience.

If you book VH I don't think you'll be able to use miles to upgrade in advance.

We did this trip two years ago, flying both ways PE. Not sure on upgrades etc, but certainly more availability flying from LHR. I would also recommend using Virgin America, they were really good, even though the flight was just over one hour.
