Hi all

With the takeover of bmi by BA I no longer get miles and points for my frequent trips from Belfast to London. This will probably mean I will not renew my gold card next year.

Can anyone recommend an alternative to the BA executive club? Or should I join it and be done?

Thanks for the advice.

Yup - they are :)

Confused as to why jcc001 hasn't done that already though - Gold on BA is MUCH more useful than BD's programme.

That said, I have a sneaky suspicion that most BD matched BA Golds will struggle to requalify for Silver next year, let alone Gold on BA's scheme once left under their own steam without the takeover-bump-up...

SO if you know you won't hit the threshold - get the free match for now, but time to start thinking about other programmes where you think you might.

I thought so, and yeah, I suspect you're right regards BD golds and the requalification....I bet there'll be a few bemused faces when they get a congratulations on making Bronze ;)

Aer Lingus are matching status too but am not sure of the mileage options given their code-sharing with BA from BFS in competition with BA from BHD!
