Morning all,
So I took the VS11 flight from LHR to BOS in PE yesterday, all was good until the inflight menu appeared.

Lasagna with mushrooms
Chicken with mushrooms
Mushroom risotto

I don't like mushrooms and I can't be the only one. What and who were thinking of that menu when the ideas of choice were being banded about????

<insert joke about similarities between Hull and a mushroom shed here>

Seriously I like them too but to have them in 3 dishes at the same time is over the top.

To paraphrase Blackadder;

VS: You know the mushroom comes to us on the highest authority.
VF: Yes I heard that. Chef Hoffman of Stuttgart, isn’t it?
VS: Yes, that’s right. The great Hoffman.
VF: Owner of the largest mushroom farm in Europe

Though I do love mushrooms, it seems quite bizarre to have them in all three dishes.

Can't help it I'm afraid.

There are so many mushrooms on the menu that there isn't mushroom for anything else.

Did you see what I did there?

I'll get me coat.

Hoho, Steve is clearly a 'fungi' to be around...

(I put the inverted commas in so that everyone realises that I made a funny joke rather than a typo)

Was on the VS33 in PE last Friday, same thing, couldn't et anything until the sandwiches came with afternoon tea.

It's the first time in all my years flying on VS that I have simply had to refuse all the meal options, can't stand mushrooms, plus they have been known to make me rather sick !

I agree, someone in VS catering has the imagination of a rock. Mind you, just tucking into a rather tasty portobello mushroom dish on VX to San Francisco, I do like mushrooms, but across all three menu choices, that is odd!

In addition to shrooms, I love in flight WiFi and I hate in flight telephony, I wish VS would get with the programme!

Yep, I hear that, plus the USB chargers at every seat. I just pay for the mobile in-flight wi-fi, only $4.95. Brilliant. Interestingly, VX, has the highest uptake of wi-fi out of all the carriers that offer it in the US.

I had this issue on VS7 on 17th June - but had a very helpful CC who agreed it was ridiculous and brought it up with the FSM as well as bringing me a (rather nice) meal from economy and an extra dessert to say sorry, so I didn't mind.

I did still feed back that I was distinctly unimpressed with the food offering though.

Can't you just eat whatever it is and pick out the mushrooms? For example I dislike avocado, so I'll eat the rest of a salad and then jus avoid the avocado. It's not that difficult.

Understand that's not an option if you're allergic. Although if I was allergic to anything I'd be ordering a special meal to be on the safe side.

?| . If an ingredient is an intrinsic part of the dish you can't just remove it and eat the rest. I cannot abide anything with baked beans, pickle, ketchup, brown sauce, gherkin, horseradish, salad cream, mustard ( although I'm just about OK with mayo if it's a small ammount). Even if a gherkin has been removed ( from say a burger) or I'm given a breakfast with baked beans I still can't eat the dish as the smell and trace taste remain and make me heave . Ugh :$ :$ .

I love mushrooms ( a large portobella filled with garlic and topped with melted mozzarella is awesome) but agree all 3 with them is crazy,

cant wait until they replace the cheese and onion sarnies with .....mushroom
