Just noticed this in FC

Please note that as of 1st July 2012, members are no longer receiving Heathrow and Gatwick Express vouchers as part of their renewal pack.
All existing issued vouchers will be still valid until their expired date

Not that they were much use to me in the first place

So apart from a few bonus miles, clubhouse access / priorty checkin when not flying upper (assuming your gold) and a plastic card, what exactly do you get nowadays for being part of the "flying club". (that's guaranteed)

Whilst I agree that having another "perk" taken away dilutes the Au status even more like others I have never used these vouchers so to me it is a case of "oh well". To me the CH is 90% of the Au benefit and being able to sit there whatever class I am traveling.

I do have a sneaky feeling and it is just my feeling the Au may well have a bit of a relaunch once the new Tier point levels have been reached again. Perhaps VS think too many people are at Au???

I'd go with that prediction too...

Well perhaps they shouldn't be handing them out like Smarties to American credit card holders

Ha ha ha :D . Too true.

Here is hoping for a relaunch of Gold on November 2nd :? with 'enhanced' benefits. Or is that just wishful thinking ?|

I agree that they're not much use anyway. It's actually more painful to get to Paddington and then unto the HEX than it is to just get a taxi directly. I've never flow VS from LGW so I have no need for the vouchers.

I would like to believe that something else will replace them. Fingers crossed it'll be using miles to book tristar when flying Z or when not flying in UC.

Ps. Do they still have the Limobikes? Anyone ever used them?

I think people have transposed the seat reservation date with the gold renewal thing incorrectly.

The gold TP change happened on 1st Sept 2011. So, given the 13 month maximum window, IF VS were going to launch anything new for gold card holders who managed to keep up with the 40 TP+, it could be from the 1st October onwards...

Is this something else I have missed :(

At the moment, it is impossible to select a seat on any VS flight after Nov 2nd, while IT systems are being upgraded.

There is some rumour - totally unsubstantiated at present - that after that date VS will follow BA and several other airlines and start charging for seat requests.
