VX will launch their elite levels for their elevate program on August 8th; as expected, the levels will be Gold and Silver.

Incidentally; JetBlue have also announced a new elite status structure. Top level is called Mosaic.

I wonder if we'll see reciprocality with VS?

Thanks for posting this Simon. I hope the reciprocality with VS comes soon (any word on how soon?). Once it does, this basically sounds like good news for VS fliers.

Pity there's no mention of clubhouse access in the gold status, though.

But you could always do that previously - when checking in.

So, what they've actually done (from what I can make out) is *restrict* the ability to do it for non gold/silver card holders... v(

Am I the only one that would like everyone to pay the "full" price to sit in first? :-p

They've long restricted upgrades to F to within 6 hours of departure.

Didn't say how soon, so unfortunately I have no idea. Said there was zero plans for a lounge network.

For the last couple of years or so at least the upgrades have only been available t 6 hours before departure - with Gold it's now 24 hours before an Silver it's 12 hours with it being opened up to the rest at 6 hours before as it has been before.

Of course less likely to be any availability as the golds and silvers can get in before you!

Yes and it is fantastic value for money, so if and I mean IF VX AU is matched with VS AU this would be a good perk, allowing access at t-24 hrs for the cheap upgrade!

If not, then it's not so appealing n(

I doubt that what benefits come the way of VS AU holders won't be the full entitlements that vx au's will get, and they're probably right in restricting that. I'm more interested in priority security etc. The upgrades are cool when available, but I don't care all that much on vx's routes if I'm sat in the main cabin.

I understand them not wanting a lounge network, it's disappointing though and I'm sure that's what their biz pax will ask for next.

Interestingly, they announced yesterday that since adopting sabre, there's been a massive increase in corporate bookings, something like 90%....that's a big result.
