EF is showing a 747, would seem unlikely to have an a330 on that route if you ask me.

Edit: Actually, EF is indeed showing an a330 seatmap, but is listing the equipment as a 747 still. A little strange... ?|

Well if they only put on a two class A333 on they should do the decent thing and offer to put you in club with BA. They have plenty if seats left for that day.

As all routes at the moment until the refurbishments have been completed all aircraft are subject to change until 24 hours before the flight so it is possible that it may change again but it is best to continue checking until the day of check in (T-24)

That's acceptable if you are in PE or economy, but what would be totally unacceptable is to send an aircraft out without a UC cabin, unless VS were to offer business class with another carrier or a 24 layover suitably compensated until an aircraft was available.I suspect that a lot of the UC passengers will have had these seats booked and paid for for several months and there would have been no mention at the time of booking that because of aircraft refurbs you might not get UC or these people would have done the sensible thing and booked with carrier that could deliver what is in relative term a very expensive purchase.

The problem for VS (and other major carriers) with the B & S routes is that a lot of passengers especially with premium and UC the flight is part of a 'Big holiday' or special occasion and therefore any disappointment is felt and aired more severely. I have just taken eight of my family UC to Jamaica at a great cost to me and could you imagine arriving back at MBJ to be told that were no UC available. This holiday included a honeymoon for our daughter, our son proposed to his girlfriend, another daughter became a teenager and the whole experience was built around them flying UC for the first time. These a memories that can't be compensated. So I can fully understand the frustration if people are worrying about their seats.

Maybe the loads in UC are very low and VS have been able to move those pax to a flight with UC on another day.

If they are using a 2 config a/c, there must be a reason for it and the Caribbean is a lot quieter during the UK summer months so it could just be very clever fleet utilisation by VS.

It is a little pointless discussing hypothetical downgrades when we a) don't know for certain if it is being operated be a 2 config a/c b)don't know if there are any downgrades and c) if there are downgrades what VS have done for/offered those pax.

Agree totally Neil I was just trying to explain why the OP is 'concerned' re his seats, and also as you quite rightly point out its how VS deals with these types of situations.i
