This is becoming a bit a regular flight for so gets a bit same-ish. Thought I would try a TR to spice it up.
Arrived at BOS about 2 1/2 hours before my flight, IMHO way too early for the lounge as BOS. It's nice to have as the gates are very close to secutity and the area can get very busy as BA, Iceland Air all have flights that leave around the same time.
Was also checked in very quickly via the UC check-in. I didn't do OLCI, forgot for some reason, was informed of a 30min delay :(!
As I was in the elevator down to the lounge a smile appeared on my face. I remembered the lounge gets very busy and getting a nice seat has been an issue in the past. Walking in was greeted in a very pleasant manner. Sat down set myself up with laptop, power, red wine and rather good piece of chocolate cake. After a few more glasses I remember how long a few hours could be in an airport and how busy the lounge now was.
Was finally called at 7:30ish. Boarding was very busy, indeed. All the classes were boarding at the same time and had just started, trying to make some time up I expect.
Once on and settled I notice that UC is very full. I can only spy 3 empty seats. As we sat waiting drinking (another) glass of red the captain came over the PA.
"Sorry for the delay, I don't want to blame BA but I will....." Seems a VS aircraft waiting for BA connecting pax as a BA flight was cancelled. I call that a VS issue for waiting!!!!
Normal UC service was on show, very busy and food ordered. No Welcome back at all on this flight, I get it more now in PE than UC!!
Started to watch a movie whilst I had dinner, the real plus point of the flight. I have braised meat dish. I was out of this world, possibly the best meal I have had on a flight - Ever!!
Food eaten, bed made flat, I sleep. Got woken up by CC as we are coming in to land and I would I like breakfast as I had asked for some, that will teach me v(
Landing was very quick for LHR at 8am and we landed only 30 mins after our scheduled time.
I had some concerns about Security as the Olympics are on top of us. People in Olympic uniforms all over the place, special lanes here, special lanes there. All I can say it must be working, walked straight thru immigration. very nice.
Good to see priority baggage in effect, bags collect I was off to the car.
Overall all shipshape and above board. What you expect an UC journey to be. A happy flyer.

Thanks for the TR y)

The BOS Clubhouse does have a certain charm and I recall the friendly welcome when we last visited a few years back

As for the braised beef, with such polarised views, I am just going to have a try ):

Another vote for the braised beef, VS has done something - I had it on Tuesday evening from SFO and it was delicious.

Also another vote for the BOS clubhouse, yes it can get busy but it's a lovely spot (albeit no windows!).

Probably won't be as the menu changes in September in UC

Thanks for the TR (and the info on how busy the lounge gets)

Guessing the braised beef is on the ex-US flights? On the VS22 next week so will def give it a try. One question... Does it come with mushrooms? ):

that choc cheesecake in the Boston CH is amazing, the food in there generally is always very good for such a small CH.

The one beef i have with it is that the seating isn't well laid out. The bench seating doesn't work for lots of solo pax & fills up quickly, or at least the usable space fills up leaving lots of empty spaces that aren't quite big enough to sit comfortably without rubbing shoulders. Likewise the big long tables in the dining section

its a great little CH, don't get me wrong, but i think the seating could do with a re-think
