Can someone please explain exactly what the second sentence in this extract from the sale booking conditions means, I am having a bad day?!
" Upgrades - may be upgraded to a higher cabin upon payment of the additional miles. Upgrades to premium economy and upperclass are not permitted when foc ticket combined with a published fare."

Thanks.

No - it's referring to a companion fare. The companion fare cannot be upgraded with miles to a higher class - the published/revenue fare that it's the "companion" of can.

"FOC" is rather laughable though, having invested £400 in charges to get the "free" companion seat in the first place...!

Surely then makes this T&C null & void... :w ):

Thanks. So how many mails per pax per leg would I need to upgrade the Economy miles sale (23,500 miles (50%)) to UC? The only amount I could find was 25K ?

Nope. It's the FULL difference between the full UC mileage amount and the number of miles you actually *spent*.

So, if an Upper ticket is 100,000 miles and you paid 25,000 miles (in a reward sale) you have to pay another 75,000 miles for the difference. (Unless there's an Upper reward sale on at the time as well, of course). If you were looking for that loophole, it was never open I'm afraid Bazz.
