I am flying to Vegas in April next year, out in upper and home in PE. Recently(MCO flight) a family member booked out in economy and home in upper. When talking to virgin Atlantic call centre she was told the most generous baggage allowance applies and that she could travel with three bags outbound as well, as she was in upper on the way home.

I can't find any record of this and it clearly states the luggage allowance for each sector in manage my booking section. She did mention it while trying to talk her into paying for an o/b upgrade to PE(which she took) Maybe as an enticement?? Has anyone heard of this rule and could anyone point me in the direction where I can see it written down to take as proof?

At new year I flew LGW to LAS in upper class and back in economy (avaliabilty problems).
When I told the check in guy I had two bags to check in he asked if i had booked the extra luggage?.
I smiled, appologised and said that due to the upper leg outbound I had forgotten.
He checked the computer and said thats fine no charge.
A smile and an appology goes a long way (also the fact you paid more for the outbound leg than most people pay for the whole flight!)
