Best bet is to check your seat requests in Manage My Booking (MMB) and see what type of seating configuration you have.

Please see the original Post for details on how to find the seat maps for old and new planes.

How do you check your "seat requests" if the seat map is unavailable ?

As far as I was aware, the seat map restrictions were in place for any flight departing on 01 November 2012 and after.

If lewis1972 is travelling this Sunday, they should be able to view the Seat Map to find out the configuration. Even at worst case, Online Check In at T-24 should show the seat map if the flight has already reached the 60% advanced allocation.

We are making some improvements to our seat assignment process. In order to minimise the impact of these changes on our passengers, we need to restrict the number of seats allocated within the system, throughout the period of development. From 9th January 2012 we will only be able to offer advanced seat selection for flights departing before 01 November 2012. This policy applies in every cabin. We will add any updates on progress to our website and when the system changes have been completed, we will once again open up seat assignment to 336 days before each flight.

Please don't forget that all seats, on every flight will be available to select when check-in opens (this is at 24 hours for mobile and on-line check in). In exceptional circumstances some seat allocations may be moved due to operational requirements.

We are flying vs15 in september, I don't have high hopes of us getting a refurb. 19% are Vtop. :(

Am I right in thinking though that if vtop is used the day or two before that it is unlikely it will be used?

There doesn't seem to be any particular order in which the a/c are used so I guess it's pot luck.

Thanks.

I'm flying vs15 in September and I really hope we get a refurb a/c but knowing my luck we'll end up with vtop!

I have to say I do understand the want for a refit!! But I have to say for us it the cabin crew that make the flight whatever class you fly if you have a great cabin crew ...which I have to say we always have then thats the best thing about the VS experience

Could not agree more. Although I love flying, I have to admit that I am actually flying somewhere to enjoy a holiday

I enjoy the challenge of getting the right seat and all the other stuff we spend hours and hours on V Flyer discussing, I am not going to let it spoil my holiday or let me have a tantrum at the airport as life is too short.

What V Flyer has allowed me to do is to break down the mystique of flying with VS

Disappointed that the upper deck PE sanctuary is now shared with economy.. not that PE was without it's screaming kids but on the MCO route the highly populated top deck will never be the same.
In addition, and back to my old gripe, will Virgin Holidays passengers still have the forward seats in PE on the upper deck held off for them? As that now constitutes the entire number of PE seats upstairs its even more a bummer for the rest of us.. having said that the larger PE cabin downstairs may now be more atractive.
Row 75 upstairs in economy looks a good grab!

Re the new bubble, will passengers in Economy have access to the toilets in the new PE section?? I'm hoping they will have to travel downstairs or does this contravene any H+S rules????

Am booked in PE for a Vegas trip in December, don't want to come across as snobbish but am paying the extra for a little exclusivity.

Hello
I am flying out on the vs050 on the 3rd of September, from Orlando to London Gatwick.

This route has always been operated by the Airbus-330. Yet it is showing the Boeing and has done for quite some weeks (it was showing airbus for sometime - months ago).

Thanks

Econ pax are allowed to use the upper deck toilets from the reports we have had so far. Those same reports also say how little of a problem it was, and as I have said previously it is actually only a few extra pax up there, so it really isn't going to make that much of a difference.

If having use of a PE only toilet is that much of an issue for you then you might be better selecting a seat in the downstairs PE cabin on the new config.

Your paying for larger seat and more legroom not an exclusive toilet, food and drinks are the same as economy.

Since when was PE food the same as economy - it is a totally different menu and service delivery.

I flew to and from LAS just last week, both times in the bubble in Y on refit planes.

Y pax do use the toilets towards the front of the PE section, behind the cockpit. No one batted an eyelid at all when I was there. There are so few seats up there, in comparison to downstairs, that the foot traffic never feels noticeable.

There's nothing premium either about the toilets either, so you're not paying for anything special in that area lol

What is the space for carry-on luggage in the new bubble? Same as the old? I cannot imagine they have been able to magic up extra space but just had the thought.

It is the same as before, the extra side bins to compensate for the smaller overhead lockers.

The upper deck now has a new large wardrobe behind the economy seats on the Right hand side, so plenty of space for bags :-)

I think they always had that, just on the right as you headed up the stairs as that was where I always put my bag - or are you saying there is a new one ?

Just a thought, if there are 7 aircraft being done and one is off being refitted, the chance of getting a completed aircraft is currently 3 in 6 (not 3 in 7).

The odds just keep getting better which is good cos I am off to Vegas next week :)

scrub that - just saw the bit about vtop :(
